Featured Team Building Experience - Creative Collaboration Workshop
One of my favorite corporate workshops was created for a team at Collins Aerospace.
Participants believed they were simply attending a painting class.
Each person began creating their own artwork, expressing their individual style and ideas.
Then came the surprise.
Without warning, everyone traded paintings.
Each participant was asked to complete someone else’s artwork.
At first there was hesitation.
Then laughter.
Then curiosity.
People began asking:
“Who has my painting?”
“I can’t believe you added that!”
“That actually made it better!”
As the activity unfolded, something remarkable happened.
The focus shifted away from creating a perfect painting and toward trusting one another, adapting to change, communicating, and embracing different perspectives.
There were plenty of laughs, but there were also meaningful conversations about collaboration, flexibility, and shared ownership.
Many participants told me afterward that it was one of the most enjoyable and memorable team-building experiences they had ever had.
